If your PC has no dedicated sound card (Creative etc) then yes, please let us know what you think of them!!
Just bought a pair of Medusa NX heaphones for half that cost mind and they are brilliant. They use the 3.5mm jacks on my sound card (usb for power), set to 5.1 surround and the results in Bad Company 2 have blown me socks off! My initial thoughts wernt too great but I had tested them with CoD 4 and it's the game that made the surround speakers sound tinny .... not the case in BC2.
There is version for for around £55 which also has the inline USB sound decoder, so it could be worthy option and save yourself £40?? Remember m8, there are two versions of the NX ..... USB power only and USB sound decoder.

..... looking about, it seems they have sussed that the price was too low and added and extra £10 too each Sad

I have a 7.1 audio sound card that came with the crosshair II formula. But I use USB speakers at home so it's never used. I''ve not heard how these sound so its hard to tell if they would be worth the money or not.

I like the fact they come with a sound control you can switch to 2.1 or 7.1 at a touch of a button, as well as being able to control the volume/bass/treble etc on the little box. The main fact is they look big and comfy. The ones I have hurt my ears after an 2-3 hours... Sad

I'll look up those headphones you said about and see what they are like. Smile

Personally!!!! i think surround sound headsets are pure gimmick and just sound muddy and confused to me. I far prefer a decent pair of stereo headphones and leaving it at that or using cmss or dolby headphone.

Of course someone will be along shortly to proclaim how a surround sound headset turned them into a gaming gode and they can now hear a mouses fart at 100m.

You dont need more than 2 speakers, your brain is an amazing thing, hence we would have 7 ears.

The sound and postioning in bfbc2 specially with headphones like mine with a wide soundstage (goldring sr150) is brill, and sound 4000% better than suround headsets for films/music.

Feel free to try mine at some point, tho mine are running off a dac.

Have a listen to http://onemansblog.com/2007/05/13/get-your-virtual-haircut-and-other-auditory-illusions/ to see why you DONT really need more than 2 speakers and how good stereo can be.

That was a bit of a ramble sorry.

I must admit, if I had a sound card that supported cmss then I would use it, I have some nice sennheiser headphones I would use. I'm on the line whether surround sound headphones are better or worse

As usual put me down in the surround sound rocks category. Didnt follow up the link (yet) on the stereo sound but will do over the next few days when I get chance, I also think I see the problem, surround sound is not designed to make you able to hear a mouse fart at 100m, for that you need some loud as hell speakers with a phat subwoofer turned up to max. BUT, surround sound will let you know if that mouse is at the front, the back, the left or right and yes - as far as left 4 dead is concerned it has made the difference on so many occasions that I cant even count them.

With regard the 2 speakers vs surround, I had the plantronics a770 which used a virtual surround sound effect for stereo speakers and whilst the sound WAS nice it pales in comparison

Doesnt really say too much but its from nasa and it looks nice!

With regard to the megalodons get a pair and tell me what they are like, I plan to get some before the end of June - they will match my mamba, Tarantula and N52TE Very Happy

Long story short - surround sound headsets are ace (but not as good as a true speaker setup)

Wow £100 for a set of headphones is bonkers, I was gutted at having to pay £25 for my Sennheiser 131's.

Hope they're worth it for the bucks dude.

I have these, a fair set i would say, although when listening to music, my sennheiser HD 238 walk all over them.

Got them they seem nice a little tight on the head i would say the base isn't amazing prob not as good as my creative one's will give them a blast in game later see what they are like, they also have a nice feature where if you try to slide them offf your head the cup rolls up and the plastic slams into your head Mad

try extending the strap on the top to make them fit over your melon and then try taking them off rather than sliding them up. Razz

Hey Fill and Elvis

Anymore PRoN talk and I'll have the Mary Whitehouse squad in here like Flint.

Your'e both pure filth, the lot of ya's. All this talk of Melons and sliding up cocks. What are you trying to do, give eFragz some atom of moral credibility? Razz

Keep the filth for the lans please. Makes a nice change from puter games Shocked Razz

Anyways, sliding back on topic............whoooooooosh

I love the names given to lots of gamings "Cool" products these days. For instance Razer Meglodon headphones, Razer diamondback mice, Cyborg joysticks etc.....

I'd just like to see something called The Razer "Dogz Bollox" Gaming mouse or the "Italian Stallion" joystick.

LOL Razz

Pron talk? pfft. Thats a bit rich coming from you! I bet at this moment you're camped outside beths house with your finest camo green stalking mac, nightvision goggles and warmed banana skin!

And Magnum whats the lycosa like? I even went sad enough to get the battlelight for the Tarantula (the keyboard is freakin huge, it takes some getting used to and the action on the keys is beautiful but it is still freakin huge)
